Tutor helping struggling child with math and science
06/09/2014
School is almost over and your children will have a lot of free time on their hands. This doesn’t mean they should watch TV the whole day. On the contrary, it should be time to develop themselves.

There are many stimulating activities your children can do during summertime. One of them is reading. That’s why, at The Tutoring Center in Oro Valley, we have a few tips that will keep them away from idleness and closer to the books.

Visit the Library

You never know what book cover or magazine will attract their attention. You can always get recommendations from the staff. Remember that many libraries have summer reading programs and activities.

Make it Interesting

The books your children read should be interesting to them. Allow them to choose the stories they want. Don’t forget to discuss every chapter with them!

Read Together

There are many ways to be involved with their reading. Remember that some books could be interesting for both of you. That way, you can also spend some time together.

Set an Example

Keep in mind that you are the main role model for your children. They tend to imitate your behavior, so make sure they see you while you read.

These ideas will encourage your children to grab a book and enjoy reading - a very important skill they will need throughout their academic life.

If your child isn’t doing great at school, summer is also a great opportunity to catch up with their classes - just remember the benefits of summer classes.  At The Tutoring Center, we have programs to help them! Thing about us, next time you are looking for tutoring in Oro Valley.
